Cornwalls Regimental Museum Museum History
The Keep, Bosmin, Cornwall
The collections are extensive, interesting, clearly
and chronologically displayed making the story easy
to follow.

The DCLI story is displayed over the first two rooms and walks the visitor through history from Gibraltar to the American War of Independence, Napoleonic War, Waterloo, the Crimea, Indian Mutiny, South Africa and both World Wars, finishing with the amalgamation with the Somersets to form The Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry.

The Armoury houses the finest collection of small arms and edged weapons outside of London as well as a superb collection of medals, including all of the Regiment’s VC’s and an extensive collection of uniforms and headdress.

The collection is not restricted to the Regular Army and reveals the importance in the County of the Volunteers, Volunteer Militia and Home Guard, including some rare uniforms and artefacts.

The Light Infantry display brings the collection right up to date and includes the largest section of “The Berlin Wall” in the country, modern weapons, a Band and Bugles display and a captured IRA mortar base plate.
